About Us
The Cook Islands Red Cross Society is the national humanitarian organization dedicated to alleviating suffering and strengthening community resilience throughout the Cook Islands We’re part of the global Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, working on diverse fronts—emergency response, health promotion, disaster risk reduction, environmental protection, and community wellbeing.
Our Focus Areas
Emergency response & preparedness: Providing urgent aid during natural disasters (cyclones, floods), health emergencies, and other crises.
Community health initiatives: Supporting first-aid training, blood donations, HIV awareness, and local health campaigns.
Climate resilience & environment: Funding local projects that manage water resources, conserve the environment, and build resilience to El Niño and climate chang
How funds will be used
- Rapid disaster assistance: Pre-positioned essential supplies (food, water purification, hygiene kits) and logistics to accelerate our response when disasters strike.
- Health & wellbeing programs: Facilitating blood drives (in partnership with BCI Bank), distributing health education materials, hosting first-aid workshops. Every donation helps keep these vital services running
- Community resilience projects:
Support sustainability and climate adaptation efforts—such as rainwater harvesting installations and environmental restoration.
Empower local volunteers and community groups to lead their own resilience-building activities
